This project was a redesign of the Houston Dynamo Texian Army Website. It is built in WordPress and features a custom built member registration and payment system built using PHP and the Paypal API. Because of the way Paypal was integrated, all user transactions happen with Paypal only through the backend of the website via AJAX so that the user never leaves the website to go to Paypal; this is functionality that usually comes with purchased plugins. Also, all single step registration form validation was handwritten and automatic membership renewal options otherwise the user is locked out.
The reason why this membership system was custom built was due to the fact that the client had specific requirements on how membership was established and how it was to flow. Because of this, there was no other pre-built option available that handled these requirements, therefore, I had a great opportunity to build one from scratch. A smaller sub-system was built to handle on-location, tablet transactions as well.
The site is fully responsive and contains an e-commerce system, an event calendar and newsletter/contact forms.
